Online Quran Classes in Germany

Germany has one of Europe's largest Muslim populations and a dense network of mosque communities — but much of the Quran teaching in them is delivered in Turkish or Arabic. For families who want instruction in English, these one-to-one classes fill a real gap.

Timezones we teach in

You give us your city and your preferred local time — we handle the conversion, and your class stays at the same local time all year.

The language question

Germany's Muslim community is substantially of Turkish heritage, and a great deal of the Quran teaching available through local mosque associations is conducted in Turkish. For Arab, South Asian, African, Bosnian and convert families — and increasingly for third-generation Turkish-German children who are more comfortable in German than Turkish — that is a genuine barrier.

Our tutors teach in fluent English, which for many families in Germany turns out to be the most practical common ground: the parents have it, the children have it from school, and the tutor has it. The Arabic is taught; the explanation happens in a language the student actually thinks in.

Around the German school day

German school days, particularly at Grundschule level, frequently finish in the early afternoon, which gives families a much wider after-school window than in the UK or North America. Slots from 2:00 pm onwards are readily bookable.

The Länder run different holiday calendars, staggered deliberately across the country, so we schedule per family rather than assuming a national break. Tell us your state's Ferien dates and we will hold your slot across them.

For converts and reverts

Germany has a substantial and growing convert community, and adult beginners face a particular difficulty: starting at the Arabic alphabet as an adult in a room of children is a real deterrent, and it stops a lot of people before they begin.

Every class here is private, which removes that entirely. There is nobody to be embarrassed in front of, the pace is set by you, and the tutor is experienced in teaching adults from an absolute standing start. A meaningful proportion of our German students are adult beginners.

Consistency across the school year

The CET/CEST changeover in late March and late October is handled on our side, so your class stays at the same local time year-round.

Many German families increase their class frequency over the six-week summer holiday and step back down at the start of the school year — we will make that change without any renegotiation of terms.

Students across Germany

We teach families in these areas and everywhere in between — because classes are online, being far from a city makes no difference to the tutor you get.

Online Quran classes in Germany — FAQs

No — classes are taught in English, with Arabic for the Quran itself. In practice this works well in Germany, since most students have strong English from school. If a young child's English is limited, mention it on the trial form and we will place them with a tutor experienced in keeping instructional language simple.
