Alongside the mosque madrasah, not instead of it
Most British Muslim children already attend a local madrasah after school, typically five evenings a week. That tradition is a genuine strength of the community and we would never suggest replacing it โ the community, the discipline and the sheer contact hours are valuable.
But a madrasah class of thirty children with one or two teachers means each child recites for a few minutes at most. Parents notice the symptom rather than the cause: a child who has attended for four years, knows a great deal, and still reads haltingly with uncorrected pronunciation.
A one-to-one class two or three times a week fills exactly that gap. Every minute is your child reciting and being corrected. Many of our UK families keep madrasah for breadth and use us for recitation accuracy.
For parents who want to check the pronunciation themselves
A recurring pattern among British Muslim parents, particularly second and third generation, is knowing that something in their child's recitation is not right without having the technical Tajweed knowledge to name it.
Our tutors will tell you exactly what is happening โ that the ุถ is being produced as a heavy ุฏ, that the madd lengths are inconsistent, that the qalqalah is landing on the wrong letters. You get a specific diagnosis rather than a vague sense of unease, and a plan for fixing it.
A significant number of UK parents end up enrolling themselves after hearing that assessment on their child's trial class.
Working around British term times
Schedules are built around the UK school calendar, including the half-term breaks that catch a lot of providers out. Slots are held over half-term and reinstated automatically, and many families increase to four or five classes a week during the six-week summer holiday.
The GMT/BST switch in late March and late October is handled on our side โ your class stays at the same local time throughout the year.
GCSE, A-level and adult learners
Teenagers preparing for GCSEs and A-levels routinely drop Quran study for eighteen months and struggle to restart afterwards. A single thirty-minute class a week is usually enough to hold ground through exam season without adding meaningful pressure, and we will scale it back deliberately rather than let it lapse.
We also teach a large number of British adults โ including reverts starting from the Arabic alphabet, and people who learned as children, stopped at eleven, and want to come back properly.
Students across the UK
We teach families in these areas and everywhere in between โ because classes are online, being far from a city makes no difference to the tutor you get.
