Online Quran Classes in the USA

American Muslim families are spread across four timezones and, in much of the country, nowhere near a qualified Quran teacher. Our tutors teach one-on-one over video call in Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time — so where you live stops being the thing that decides your child's education.

Timezones we teach in

You give us your city and your preferred local time — we handle the conversion, and your class stays at the same local time all year.

When USA families usually book

Before school — 6:00–8:00 am

Popular with Hifz students, who consistently retain more when the new sabaq is taken first thing.

After school — 3:30–7:00 pm

The busiest window. Book early in the school year, as evening slots fill first.

After Isha — 8:30–10:30 pm

Preferred by working adults and older teenagers.

Weekends — all day

Saturday and Sunday slots suit families running children between multiple activities midweek.

The problem with weekend Sunday school

For most American Muslim families the default option is a weekend Islamic school attached to the local masjid. These do enormous good and are often the only Islamic education available for a hundred miles — but the structure works against Quran specifically. One teacher, fifteen to twenty-five children, two hours a week, once a week.

Divide it out and each child gets roughly five to eight minutes of individual recitation time, most of which is spent waiting for their turn. Then six days pass before the next session, by which point much of the correction has faded. Children can attend for years and still not read fluently — not through any failure of the teachers, but because the format cannot deliver what Quran recitation requires.

A thirty-minute one-on-one class two or three times a week inverts that ratio completely. Your child recites for the entire session and is corrected on every error, with only two or three days between contacts.

Distance stops mattering

The concentration of qualified Quran teachers in America maps closely onto a handful of metropolitan areas. A family in Dearborn or Northern Virginia has genuine choice. A family in Boise, Little Rock or rural Pennsylvania frequently has none at all, and the ones who do often face a forty-minute drive each way for a one-hour class.

Teaching online removes the geography from the equation entirely. Families in small towns get the same Ijazah-certified tutors as families in Queens, and nobody spends ninety minutes a week in the car.

Fitting around the American school year

Class schedules are set around your school calendar rather than ours. Slots are adjusted for the switch to and from Daylight Saving Time automatically, so nothing shifts underneath you in March and November.

During Ramadan many US families move to a post-Iftar or pre-Fajr schedule, and we reschedule the whole roster rather than asking you to re-book. Summer break is when most students accelerate — plenty of families move from two classes a week to four or five for June through August, then step back down.

Female tutors for sisters and daughters

This is the most common request we get from American families and it is always accommodated. Our female tutors hold the same Ijazah credentials as their male colleagues and teach the full range of courses, from Noorani Qaida through to Hifz and tafseer.

You state the preference when booking the trial and it is honoured for every class thereafter, including if you later change tutors.

Students across the United States

We teach families in these areas and everywhere in between — because classes are online, being far from a city makes no difference to the tutor you get.

My 6-year-old son went from not knowing the alphabet to reading short surahs in a few months. His teacher is patient, kind, and keeps him engaged for the whole class.
